Abstract: The article introduces into scientific circulation and publishes two letters from 1873, addressed by Archimandrite Antonin (Kapustin) and the mission dragoman assistant Yakub Khalebi to the pilgrim and philanthropist A. I. Kadysheva. The documents were discovered in handwritten copies in the notebooks of A. E. von Rummel. The published letters are significant as a source for studying the phenomenon of “Russian Palestine,” and are also important for understanding the peculiarities of communication between Archimandrite Antonin and Yakub Halebi with women pilgrims and benefactors.
