Abstract: The article presents a review of the monograph by Goncharov scholar G. G. Bagautdinova, dedicated to the poetics of the non-novel prose of I. A. Goncharov. Considering the little-studied side of Goncharov’s legacy through the prism of the “framework text,” the author of the monograph characterizes in detail such dominant components of Goncharov’s non-novel poetics as “cumulativeness,” interpreted by the commentator in the mainstream of folklorism, “ornamentality,” understood as the geometry of rhetorical figures, and the rhythm of prose as a beginning that unites all artistic components. The review pays special attention to new approaches to the interpretation of I. A. Goncharov’s poetics, carried out by the researcher on a wide range of textual material, and analyzes the range of questions posed in the study and the scientific effectiveness of addressing them as well as the structure of the monograph.
